What a joy it is to have over 100 children as a captive audience, learning about sharks and the oceans! It was a wild day at the Centre with so many children which we broke up into three groups; one group was with me having a lesson on sharks, the other across the road from the Centre having a rock pool lesson with Michael Carnegie, and the third group in the lecture room with Verona Smith, our educator, watching one of our documentaries – every 45 minutes we rotated them! Since we started the education programmes in August last year we have had over 4000 children visit the Centre and there is seldom a week where it is not brimming with busy little minds and bodies! (The Centre is an AfriOceans Conservation Alliance project funded by SOSF.)
